I got a used ENGINE.

I got a used engine with 82k miles delivered to the garage I was using. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...muter/3853.JPG
The engine was very dirty and did not look like it was stored indoors.
Does anybody know who used to own this? It was a 1992. VIN >>http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...muter/3854.JPG
I would really appreciate it if someone with CAR FAX could send me the report.

The engine I took out had several leaking valves so figured I had better check out this engine. i was not going to put it in with bad valve and rings and head gasket, even with a six month warrantee. After I cleaned off the engine I did an air test on each cyclinder for leaks in the valves, head and rings. Dropped oil in each cyclinder to help lubricate and free up the rings. The engine had been sitting around for 2 years. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...muter/3855.JPG

I was also concerned about coolant leaks so I sealed off the coolant system with hoses and filled the engine with water at 15 psi pressure overnight. Everything was dry in the morning and that was very good. No water in the oil sump or cyclinders. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...muter/3856.JPG

I knew the engine was sitting outside a long time, so I blew out the fuel lines on the engine. The regulator valve worked fine at 38 psi. It blew out some old fuel and water. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...muter/3857.JPG

The engine ran on Sunday night. After letting it warm-up and giving the sticky lifters time to work free I took it for a short trip and checked for leaks. The tranny fluid was leaking from the hoses near the back engine. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...muter/3858.JPG

Just as a reminder, this is how hard my car hit the ground. Take a look at these tail pipes. The heat shield is completly flat against the exhaust pipe. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...muter/3859.JPG
And a from a different angle.

I am very happy with the way this turned out at the moment. The used engine is running fine and sounds very good.
