Been there, done that….. see photo!
Mine is a 96 Lsi that was also totaled because the parts are so expensive. I bought it back from Allstate for $600.00, found a ’92 for $1700.00 (with a decent body but; bad transmission, CV axles and other stuff), and put the ’96 back together. The only other parts I had to buy (other than paint) were the air-bags (I found them on used-auto-parts.net). It was at the Indiana meet… I think it looks OK now. And the best part, financially, the insurance paid about $3000.00 more than I now have invested in the car! Only problem, it has a “re-built title”.
I think you should keep it….
