Well, even a '97 is still 25 years old. I read in one of the posts that a 25W 27 ohm resistor worked the best (original between 12-15 ohms). All I can say is that the part was cheap, the job was easy, unless you knew what you were looking at it would seem stock, and most of all my tranny shifts beautifully between 1st and 2nd for the firts time since I've owned it
