Nothing's special about it - it's just a base WRX with fewer luxury features.

No fog lights, a 1 disc cd player (instead of 6 disc), manual hvac system (instead of auto climate system), unpainted side mirrors and a smaller stereo system (lower amps and fewer speakers). Other than these superficial items, it's exactly the same.

From people who've weighed theirs, it comes in at roughly 3160lbs compared to a standard WRX that weighs 3190lbs. One guy with a WRX TR in Arizona has gone 13.8 @ 100.2mph in the 1/4 already.

Btw, TR stands for 'Tuner Ready'.

Agreed. Steel Gray is also a pretty rare color, and if I passed on that one, I would have needed to travel 150 miles to get another.

Harvey.
Thanks Harv. No real plans for it at this time. Want to keep it stock to compete in SCCA D-stock autox this season. Just enjoying the ride for now.

You know, if no one picked up Boxer6SVX's car, I was seriously thinking about buying it. You never know, I just might get another sometime down the road...

As far as your car's pre-ownership "ride" - might I suggest that you have a little "chat" with the salesman in question and ask him to describe his trip in your car. It might just be that he drove it in a way that that is actually good for the car.

I'll be at Reading with my WRX TR!

The salesman said he broke it in nice an easy on his trip - never took it above 4,000rpms. From how grabby the clutch is I can tell no hard drop launches were done. As a precaution, I changed out the factory break-in oil today (put in Mobil 1 5W-30) and it came out nice and clear with no metal particles. Everything's working fine with no unusual noises other than that spooling turbo which I'm still getting used to!
