That's pretty much the same thing mine does, especially with the firing right back up part. If you let it sit an hour or two, it will sometimes be hard or require use of the gas pedal. Not really for fuel as much as for more air. I'm pretty sure Harvey is right about the leaky injector, at least on my SVX. If you go over some of the old Yahoo messages you might see similar conclusions from Beav & Eddycat.
