The econ light is for UK/Euro model. The wiring for it can be found in harvey's old locker. The econ switch on a UK/Euro SVX is connected to pin A4 just like the power switch on a JDM SVX.

The software in the UK/Euro TCU is programmed to engage econ mode when the pin is grounded - unlike the JDM and USA SVXes where it is programmed to engage power mode. The econ light is connected to the econ switch rather than being controlled by the TCU. The light simply indicates that the switch has been pressed.
