Well...

Well, I hate to bum questions here about my Legacy, but no one over at the BBS can deduce my problem (they all say wheel bearings, I'm suspect).

My rear left wheel has a bit of play in it (it moves a little bit laterally). Associated with this play is the sound of a scrape that is speed sensitive. I hesitate to say it's wheel bearing because it's not a roar (like my last wheel bearing was), but more of a scraping sound. I pulled off the rotor and it doesn't seem that anything is scraping. However, the shaft will move slightly back and forth up and down (perpendicular to its axis). Is this bad bearing or bad CV?

If a mod or admin decides this thread is inappropriate..so be it.
