I wonder if the cam shaft seals really fail due to PCV valve. I believe they should not since valve cover on both sides are ventilated seperately. Also: If they are intact, they should work fine once overpressure cannot build up anymore due (after valve replacement).

The seals fail due to age/wear. I replaced all 5 in the front. Its basically a timing belt replacement taking some minor steps further. Plenty of exelent information on this forum on this topic, yust use the search function. (Helped me through it all the way).
You will find the parts needed listed in a thread. I donīt recall prices, but if you do it all (which you should) my guess its about 300$ in parts and several hours of work.
