The transmission holds the engine at a slightly downward angle. That is to say, the line that would represent the crankshaft of the engine it not parallel to the ground, the nose of the crankshaft is higher above ground level than the rear. The engine will sit flat without the transmission and the pitch stopping mont to hold it in this "slanted" position. Be careful that the radiator is not damaged by the engine unit hitting it if you get rough when installing the trans.
