All the lakes connect.
Superior and Michigan flow into Huron, which flows into Erie, which flows into Ontario which flows into the St. Lawrence River. I think that's how it goes.
The water doesn't come from the Gulf of St. Lawrence, it goes to it, and it's all fresh water.
