Do you see that switch close to the trigger in your picture? Is this the trigger safe lock or a selector for semi automatic mode? The one offered to me has the same switch on it, but i remember it in an upper position, above the trigger, but i may be wrong.

You can easily buy larger capacity aftermarket magazines and even some Army surplus military magazines.
The selector switch is the safety switch. The fully automatic version has different trigger mechanisms.
The pictured older weapon above has nothing to do with the M1/M2/M3 carbines. It apparently just happens to have the same .30 cal designation and probably not even compatible, but I would guess it to be a late 1800s/early 1900s rifle and probably not even military.
