Thanks guys we do have another dog we adopted almost exactly one year ago to help fill the gap left with our loss... We got the new dog in the hope that our older dog would train her. When we got our new dog Holly, she was not house trained at all. She lived in a trailer with 85 other dogs and survived on the other dog's poops and pee. She is a good dog now.
I guess Mackie felt her job was done and she could leave us...
