Ever had a rattling noise come from the center of ur svx?

Ok, im not sure if this has been put into black and white so i thought i would post with a solution, i have spoken to some of the aussie guys on this topic aswell, now i have a photo to help explain.

So my SVX had some bad rattling/tinny/rubbing sounds coming from underneth it! so i proceded in removing the heatsheilds from the cat forward!
This helped alot but didnt solve the problem completly

The sound was best described as (by someone on this forum) a rock in a milo tin. This is what i found.....

what actually happened was the heatshild shown here had misshapen, and occasionally would touch the driveshaft, hence the noise.

You can actually see where the heatshield rubbed the black of the outside corner of the baring. (just above the arrow)

I solved this problem with a big ass screwdriver and some twisting and shoving till the driveshaft was clear

Hope this helps some people out

cheers,
Jake
