Transmission cooling hoses come above the steering rack on the drivers side. They tend to leak. It is the same ATF in the rack and in transmission, so you can't tell by color/smell.
Check the transmission lines - if they are dry, then the leak is from the rack. If the rack is leaking, the best is to replace it (you can find a remanufactured one with lifetime warranty).
