Re: Want ethanol free gas?
I passed an Exxon (I think) station in Dalton, Georgia a couple of months ago with a sign out front promoting their ethanol-free gas for better fuel economy.
Any Subaru owner's manual I've ever perused stated that up to 10% ethanol is acceptable. I run the cheapest 90/10 blend in town (Marathon, or Brand X from a local supermarket) in both of my cars and have never had a problem of which I'm aware. Suffice it to say they run strong and consistently return 27+ MPG on the road, at real-world speeds. No doubt, a steady diet of straight gasoline would show slightly better numbers, but probably not enough to offset the cost.
