I'd recommend, while you're at Wal-Mart, that you get yourself a floor jack and a couple of stands. I think $50 will get you a set that'll see you through occasional use.

Doing any sort of work on your car, using the jack that comes with the car, is a no-no in my book. It's dangerous. If you have to use the car's tire-changing jack, then at least use a jackstand instead of leaving the car on that jack.

By the way, I recommend putting the jackstands under the front and rear subframes. My stands are channel-shaped so I put blocks of wood in between the stands and the car.

Anyway, you can try getting a jack at a salvage yard.
