1. A course is determined ahead of time by event organizers.
2. This course is timed by the organizers. The time is based on the speed limit for each road. Time is allowed for each stop sign and traffic light.
3. The people driving the course record their times to certain points. The goal is to come as close to the actual times set by the organizers. Points are decuted for completing the course too fast, and points are deducted for completing it too slow.
4. Directions are provided "turn here, turn there etc." A map is also provided in a sealed envelope. If the driver opens the envelope to look at the map, points are deducted.
We thought this would be a more interesting alternative to the drives of the past. If there are members that would not like to participate in the rally competition, they can simply use the same direcions and map and drive at their own pace.
Any feedback?
