Bob,
The car should start with a gallon of gas.
You should open the high pressure line just before the fuel filter.
Crank it over [with a well charged battery] till you get fuel spitting there. Would be good if you could take off and immerse the fuel filter in petrol till it fills, then re-connect it to the inlet pipe. Now crank it till you get gas at the outlet.
Re-connect the line to the injectors, and it should fire up after a few turns.
Obviously be careful of the fuel, have NOBODY smoking within 20 metres of the job. You don't want it to really fire up, now do you?
