Vic, I should have thought of it yesterday, but you can get one of Tom's (Svxfiles) resistors, to replace the one behind the battery. It will bump up the line pressure a bit so that it won't slip as much. Won't fix the problem but it will make it last for a while longer. There are a few around here.
