I don't think there is any other way to test other than measuring the line pressure, hot and at idle. Should be between 65/85 psi.
Only way to fix is to pull and fix the gasket.

Otherwise you can keep going, just don't drive in 4 at low speed as the low pressure will cause to band and high clutch to slip. Watch the taco and keep above 2000 rpm in any gear.
