It won't. But that's just my opinion. It'll still be easy enough to get ahold of. All we do by trying to inhibit the abusers is inhibiting ourselves.
Either way, the motivation for the change in regulations is, as I understand it, due to the few heart attacks that have resulted - mostly through misuse - from ephedrine-containing products. If people are going to be stupid and kill themselves by washing down a bottle of GNC-brand ephedra with Mountain Dew, I suppose banning the straight up stimulant is one thing. Fine, it's not safe.
But restricting sales of cold medicine pisses me off.
I don't mind asking the pharmacist for sudafed, but it becomes a slightly bigger hassle when I need it at midnight.
