I had to rebuild a Dodge A525 5 speed tranny in winter, so I took it out in the driveway, bought a bunch of cheap plastic dropclothes and bedsheets from Kmart and rebuilt in in the dining room.
At least Dodge had their head on straight and allowed it to be removed with less than half a dozen bolts, they were just really beefy bolts, like 5/8 diameter.
Of course I let it warm up (and me) for a few hours before I began rebuilding it.
