I just spent a couple of weekends installing a new 4.44 tranny and rearend into my son's '92 svx.
He developed the same problem. After a little while third an fourth went out altogether.
You can try to have the tranny flushed and etc ... but odds are the tranny and torque converter have been contaminated by the debris from the fried clutches.
