how do you identify an R160? R180?

ing, and found this on to ID
r160 and r180.
tell me if im wrong...if they're wrong...they say R160 have a star on the diff cover and the r180 has a 21 stamped on the cover and my diff as a star.
i ask this cause i put running gear from an 99 impreza but the cv shafts dont fit in the svx hub thus i need to know if can just buy svx cv shafts (assuming a thread i read here is right and svx came with r160) and just R&R them? are all r160s the same?
