Well, if you are talking low end grunt it has it's dips. 4500 rpm plus is where it's at IMO. From tickover though, from a standing start it will launch at great pace - very handy. Especially in the wet because it both grips and steers!
I drive my jdm in '3' till I reach about 80mph, and always in the 'power' mode. US model owners maybe ought to try a jdm or UK spec SVX, as the sheer grip available is fantastic for such a weighty piece. I understand the transmission is very different. A twin turbo version would be awesome. I had a Soarer TT briefly, which I suspect had more boost than I reckon was designed to have. So quick it had to go - before it broke!
One thing I can confirm is the SVX is no match for an R1 - my oldest lad roasted me last week. Only saving grace is the fact that it is my bike he was on....
