A limited slip is actually better for general driving in snow vs. a true lockup diff in that a lockup would have both wheels spinning the same speed in a turn which could cause you to lose traction. A true lockup is for off roading or getting unstuck.

With our VTD gearboxes, if we pull the fuse we get pure 50/50, locked.
But it would be bad to drive that way on tarmac.
