not even taking the jeep into consideration, the elantra pmt is $250/month for four years. since the claret svx was our most fuel efficient vehicle, it was used as our daily driver. fuel costs alone were $300/mo. the elantra is least 50% more fuel efficient and requires only regular unleaded. i expect our fuels costs to only be $180/month for commuting. so in four years, the elantra will only cost $6240 at today's fuel costs. that's pretty much the cost of a new tranny, rear diff, windshield, and tires the svx needs now. i'm pretty sure it would need even more work in the next 100k miles i'd put on it in four years.
