After recently losing the lower end in the built 2.5 that is in my '97 Outback, I have began to seriously consider an EG33 swap into it. I have done many different swaps on all models of Subarus over the years, so the technical skill level is there, just not sure what exactly needs to be changed out to get the H-6 to fire in my car. Have seen it done in an early Legacy (with a S/C also), so it seems like it can be done in a later Legacy.

Here are the Questions that need answers:

1. Have any of you done this swap before?
2. What wiring modifications will need to happen to get the engine to fire up?
3. Can an early EG33 (92-94) be fired with a later (OBD II) ECU, or do I need to go with 95 and newer intake, wiring & ECU ?
4. Can the p/s unit/rack off of the Outback be retained?
5. Does the crossmember need to be changed or can it be modified?
6. Is a Turbo Legacy tranny w/ 3:90s the best manual transmission for the EG33?

Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I get my car on the rack, hate suprises (and pushing) once the car is apart...
