To be fair we can get a good increase in hood clearence if someone made the central area of the hood that is lower on the OEM hood higher. IE make it rise above the fender line by the same ammount its currently depressed.
in the 90's it wasn't uncommon to have the lower grade cars have the hood with a recessed center and the highperformance version have a raised center regardless of need.
And if you really want more, you can buy fiberglass parts for a bodyshop to modify a current hood with.
