Did the PCV valve replacement fix this?
Yes, at the time I thought that it had fixed it. Mine never popped up again in the remaining six months or so that I owned the car. But, I seem to recall others changing their PCV valves, and still having the dipstick problem. So, I wouln't want to proclaim this as a sure-fire fix to the dipstick popping up. I did seem to fix mine, however. It's been about a year now since I sold it to John Shotsky, maybe if you ever run into him on one of these club things you can ask him how it's doing?

The only idle problem mine had was an occassional 'hiccup', or slight stutter, at idle. Like when you're sitting at a traffic light waiting for it to change. It was almost imperceptable, but there nonetheless. I never did get that to go completely away, even after cleaning the throttle body, and fuel treatment, and PCV valve replacement. Others have noted it too, and I'm not sure anybody has found a solid fix for it. Although now I'd guess that a new Oxygen sensor would be the fix.
