short answer yes its alot safer then what I do when I am checking for a missfire on a car with ingnition wires (wakes you up better then the coffee at my place )... they are pretty easy to spot and pulling them off will at the worst cause the car to stall... just make sure you pull from the harness and not the wire...
The cylender that is missfiring will not cause the car to run any worse when you pull the harness from the injector
