The 02-03 WRX definitely and most of the other years actually already have 3.54 R160s in them. Although they do go bad sometimes on them and need to replaced.

Most of the WRX 5MTs came with the 3.90 front ratio and the 1.1:1 center diff requiring a 3.54 rear diff.
