Thanks. I considered the timing belt also. It is a Subaru belt with about 15000 miles on it. Since it started and ran after I changed the alternator I thought maybe it was in the wiring. Is it possible that if the timing belt slipped, the cam and crank could get into a position to let it start? anyway i will check the timing belt this weekend. thanks for the help.
