In WA state there is not even a liability insurance requirement for that matter. You can hardly do any damage on a bike. Usually the biker and his machine take the hit.

I was an eye-witness to a fatal crash a few years ago. A Yamaha 750 ride was showing off, momentarily lost control and crashed head on into a car at about 80mph. The car was doing about 20.
The rider flew over the car, suffered multiple fractures, but survived. The car driver (father) was killed instantly. The front seat passenger (mother) was seriously injured and almost died. The two teenage kids in the back had slight to serious injuries.
A month later the daughter committed suicide due to the trauma.
