The main language is Arabic of course, as for the second language, here is the dilemma...
Most of the schools are French but most of the universities are English. All of the educated people can definitely understand and speak French and English. And believe it or not, the currency is not just Lebanese Pounds (or Lira in Arabic), but also US dollar. That's right, we are a dollarized country and our currency relies on US $, because it is more stable than the others in the World.
I personally went to a French school and then to an American University. You know Notre Dame Uni. right? this is mine right now
. We do also have AUB (American University of Beirut) and LAU (Lebanese American University)....
