Dave Despain had Peter Windsor on his show the week before the USGP, and Dave asked him what he had to say about F1 being 'boring' because there was little overtaking. Peter said something that I just completely agree with. He said that F1 has never been about overtaking, ever. F1 is about amazing drivers at the wheel of amazing machines. In short, it's about perfection. Michael Schumacher in France, pulling off an unbelievable switch to a four-stop race and then winning with it, is perfection. It was thrilling.

Honestly, I don't care who wins. I just want them to be the best. Right now, Michael Schumacher is the best. A few years ago it was Mika Hakkinen and McLaren who seemed so untouchable. Someday it'll be somebody else. But in the meantime we're witnessing something we're not likely to ever again in our lifetimes.
