Woohoo..I just found out that the Porsche Club of America has track days and AutoX around here. http://www.rgvpca.org/faq.htm

The next one is in late September, so I have a little time to get my SVX ready...but what should I do to it so I can make a decent showing, keeping in mind I'm not made of $$ right now.

Here's my short list right now:

1. Buy Helmet ~$90 Looking at a SA2000 rated, open face one probably unless you have a better idea? Like this one...

2. Turn or Replace rotors, bleed brakes (requirement for the Track day, is that you bled them in the past 2 weeks). I flushed all the brake fluid last year, so I think I'm good there.

3. Pump up the 'Turbo Traction' ? tires.

4. Take all the junk out of the trunk and everywhere else.

5. Hopefully - rig up 2nd tranny cooler w/ fan ala Immortalsuby

What else? Should be lots of fun...
