1969 Alfa Romeo GTV

One day at a family reunion in 1987, my aunt (2 or 3 times removed) approached me and asked if I would help her get rid of a car in her garage. She tells me her son had this blue car stored since 1975 when he moved out to go to college, but never came back for it.
Lo and behold, under 13 years of dust, was an immaculate 1969 GTV, blue with tan interior. The dash was perfect (very rare for these cars as most split from UV damage). She sold it to me for $300.
I trailered it to Altlanta (where I lived at the time). Just for kicks, I drained and re-filled the tank (it was FULL of 13 year old gas), changed the fluids, plugs and a fresh battery and the car started and ran. Around $300 in misc restorations parts (brakes mostly), I had a time capsule daily driver GTV.

The speedo didn't work, so the odo reading was pretty meaningless, but I look back at that as the equivalent of finding and driving one of the 19K miles SVX'1 recently on eBay, only for a lot less money.

GTV
