The 5 speed does make the car lighter but not 200 lbs. The Auto tranny and front differential weigh 200 lbs (exactly) dry and the torque converter weighs 30 lbs dry (I don't have a flex plate to weigh). I know this because I've lifted these suckers and weighed them on a digital scale for my own curiosity.
So, if the clutch and flywheel (26.5 lbs for stock flywheel weight) weigh about the same as the torque converter and flex plate the weight savings should be about the difference between the automatic and the manual. Anyone have the actual 5 speed weight?

Small Car Performance told me the whole set-up reduces the weight by 65 lbs. I would believe it saves closer to 100 lbs. but not 200 lbs.
