Just think of leaving pond water in a large container for several weeks. When you come back, the larger particles will have settled to the bottom, while the clear water will be on top. This is also happeing in your transmision over the years. When you power flush, friction material and other deposits will be scattered all over the transmission which can lead to failure.

My wife had her old automatic 240SX power flushed at 90K miles and within 2 weeks the trans went out and had to be rebuilt for $1,800.
