As far as your Cruise not working, Blue, check the firewall on the drivers side near the brake fluid resevoir. There is a vacuum line for the cruise control that connects to a fitting near there. It is very common for it to get knocked loose when checking the transmission fluid. It happened to me once and someone showed me how simple it is to fix. 9 times out of 10 it is the likely cause. Give it a shot.
