Disconnect the cable from the lever on the side of the tranny and move it (lever) by hand to drive - three clicks from the park position

If you have parked nose up or down you may need to take weight of the vehicle off the park ratchet (someone push the car just a bit) - it will be too hard to move the lever by hand otherwise.
Remember that the car will not start in "D".
