Yeah, it's FWD.
I have gone back and forth over the past couple years - one day I want to convert it to 4WD and the next day I don't. It's actually awesome in snow as it is. With the 12" wheels and $25 Guardsman tires from Sears it gets through pretty much anything.

It's not bad in FWD but when you get stuck in FWD mode you just click the 4WD button on the shifter and just keep on going!
