As for the smoke...
Once, about 2 years ago, I had the SVX in AZ. It was parked on a slight uphill after that long highway run from Denver. 2 days later I started 'er with a nice mosquito abatement cloud of blue oil smoke. Hasn't done it since. *shrugs* Whatever. Roll on!
