hey guys..

i'm at a friend's house and thought it would be a good time to install the new AC belt seeing as how it was clear and not-too-cold. well i finally managed to get the thing tightened down to the point where it didn't squeal like crazy as soon as i started the car. only problem is that the belt now SMOKES. At first it was just pouring the stuff off like it was nobody's business.. after i let it run awhile, it seemed to die down. what gives? is the belt just breaking in or something? is this a sign of a more serious problem? need help quick..
