Typically I alternate between regular and premium to achieve a "blend" of roughly 91 octane, but recently, for no particular reason, I filled-up with 87 octane regular several times in a row. Couldn't tell a bit of difference.
If the engine management system is working properly the consequence of running a tankful of regular will likely be slightly worsened fuel economy.
