Ok so I got the new FWD trans in the car, put fluid in there, etc. etc. Turned on the car and fluid spewed out of one of the trans hard lines. One of the hardlines was split. So I grabbed the one off of the old trans that came out of the car and they had two different fittings. The new trans that I put in the car has a flange fitting..whereas the fitting on the old (bad) trans is a banjo fitting (which OT said are the same fittings that are on all of the trans that he has and its the same fitting that are on all of my other trans too)...
Here's a pic of the two different fittings. The cut off piece is what was on the new FWD trans that is in the car. The complete line is the banjo fitting that should be on the car.
I figured that maybe it would work anyway. BUT, this trans (the good one in the car) the setup is completely different and was professionally manufactured. Here's a picture of the setup that's in the good trans. As you can see there is a piece in the hole in the trans rather than the ball that you usually see for the banjo setup. (sorry for the sucky pictures I could only use the cell phone.)
This is the ball setup for the banjo setting...
So my question is this: Where can I find a hard line like the one that I should have in the car?
I was going to check my local Subaru (but mostly Ford) dealership to see if they have something like it.
Does someone have one lying around?
