I lost a German Shepherd at 10 years old in 2007 and another at 9 1/2 in 2008. We got a Boxer puppy Christmas 2007. It sucks, but open your heart to another dog that desperately needs you. You'll never forget, but the love of the next one does round off the sharp edges. Everyday I want my Shepherds back, but the Boxer is cool in her own right. Like night and day to a Shepherd.
