I'd go along with that. The first Impreza, at least in 2.5 RS trim with the fog lights had a "mean" look to it. I like the 2002-2003 alright but the things just look too happy

As far as how it drives - most people will not go along with my love of automatics, but that's what I wanted and I love it. My other WRX I had earlier - the 2003 sedan - was a 5 speed and I didn't like it. Not a MT person anymore. BUT, all that being said the 4EAT in the '06 is very responsive, very quick. The increased torque in the lower range that the new 2.5 has may be responsible for that too. I don't know, all I know is that it drives sweeet.
The heated seats don't hurt either....
