And those thousands of jurisdictions are all very separate entities. This is a big damned country, and there are different laws, ordinances and policies everywhere. 
I'm sure you understand all this, Andy, but I thought your use of the term 'US Police' highlighted a perception I see from people around the world.
Besides, most of those police chase videos you'll see are from California (specifically LA), which is going to sink into the Pacific anyway - so don't hold it against us.

Sorry for not being more specific. I was refering to 'US Police' rather than 'French' 'Austrailian' 'Canadian' etc. I was not more specific as my comment was about the Merc rather than the Police.
We have a few of these Police Chase programmes, usually hosted by a dipstick called Sherrif Burrell. That Merc film was very enlightening, but the spin out method has less success on most Euro and Japanese cars.
Do US cars have a built in design fault or is it that the more enlightened and skillful drivers buy imports?
